The Asian Games, also known as Asiad, is a continental multi-sport event which is held every 4 years. Countries from all over Asia participate in various events. Originally, the event was supposed to be held in 2022 but had to be rescheduled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This year will officially be the 19th Asian Games, as it started in 1951. The Olympic Council of Asia has been responsible for organizing the events since 1982.
